I've tried both hot and cold showers at different times during the day, but I still feel lethargic and sleep after. Isn't taking a shower supposed to refresh and wake you up?

well that depends. If you are sleep deprived or spent from excercise and a long day the shower will relax you more to sleep. but if your sleeping hours is on track and you are not tired from a long day and excercise then showing will actually make you more aware. I understand because i take showers( extremely hot showers where u can see the steam all over bathroom and fogs up miirrors) and it relaxes me. However if the shower is even is just warm i get cold and get aware real fast. If its cold i freeze to death tho.

I think sometimes a shower helps me...like first thing in the morning, but other times it does make you tired. It's more so relaxing, a symbol or way of telling your body to relax. Alot of people say when your stressed, just take a bath or shower and wash the old and stress away and start over. Maybe that is what your body is thinking! Just relax...don't wear yourself out b4 taking the showers.

Yeah that's what I thought, but instead, the same thing that happens to you happens to me, I feel sleepy after I take a shower.

Not necessarily. I take a shower to relax at bed time.

showers only refresh you if you've been getting a good nights sleep. hit the hay early, and start earlier. this will alter your sleeping pattern and should get things back into shape.
