It is said mice are sociable animals but i disagree that they need another mouse. I have tried two males and that never works because they constantly fight over territory and can kill each other. A male and female does not work either, either they breed or the female killed the male in my experiences. You should go with one.

It depends on how social the mouse is. Most animals, including mice, enjoy company so I would suggest 2. If you buy one, and it is doing fine on it's own, I don't think you need to worry as long as you give them lots of attention ^^

More than one female would be fine. Two males will more than likely fight. A male and a female will have too many babies. I suggest females. They usually always get along together.

one would be fine, they actually prefer to be alone and if you got more than one they could end up fighting and killing one off.
