My daughter works nights and sleeps during the day.
She put wood flooring down in her bedroom, painted the walls brown, and even put black plastic on the windows to help her sleep. Then, why , oh, why does she end up sleeping all day on the couch with the sun streaming in on her? What gives? Help me understand this.

Maybe she feels closer to you there and sleeps better knowing you are near.

My sister works nights also. Everytime I see her during the day she is catching some z's somewhere. Whether it be the couch, straight up at a chair at the kitchen table, or just on the floor. Just the other day my mother told me that one of her coworkers had to nudge her awake because she was sleeping while she was in the middle of a task, standing up! My best guess is that your daughter just lands wherever she can and the couch must be pretty close. Hope this helps. :)

Good to see you up and running!

She may feel safer there, that is not so strange or wrong either, people are all different, and so some people like total darkness and some just don't. It depends on what you get use to as well? I don't know maybe she likes it on the couch?

Because she can I suppose. Maybe it is the need for the vitamin D that she craves from the sun and this is her way of getting it. I worked nights before and before you know it your lagging behind from the night work. Good luck.

Because she doesn't think it bothers anyone that she does that, furthermore logic means diddly when you're tired and so it's possible that is just where she ended up and did that so many times that it became habit.

It's 2am that's the best I got.

lol, she must be so tired that it doesn't really matter to her anymore, or she's just accustomed with the couch
