telling others the truth about having an affair is not illegal, it is in poor taste and not a nice thing, but it is not illegal.

If they are theatening your life, you can file a police complaint about it.

You potentially have grounds for a civil lawsuit for defamation (libel), in the case of any statements that were factually untrue.
As well as a case for public disclosure of private facts.

Both of those are expensive lawsuits, and you are not likely to recover enough in damages to break even. Not to mention that you would be making the whole thing even more public.

But there are legal grounds for the suit, given those facts.
Laws vary by state, so consult a licensed attorney in your area.

No. How did these "private photos" get online anyway? You might have legal action regarding the death threats.

You definitely have legal recourse. You should contact a lawyer about how specifically to proceed.

In my opinion you are getting what you deserve. I hope in the future you will stay away from other peoples partners.
