A season pass is, essentially, a re-usable admission ticket for getting into a particular amusement park or a group of parks (such as all the cedar fair parks). It is sold to a single individual and usually has a photo on it to prevent it from being shared among many parties. The cost of a season pass is more than a single park admission but if you visit the park multiple times it 'pays for itself'. Many season passes are also accompanied by a coupon book that gives the holder access to special events and allows them special privileges (like bring a friend for free days).

An adult ticket for Great America purchased at the park costs $46.95 while children's tickets (under 48") are $29.95. Adult tickets can be purchased online http://www1.cedarfair.com/greatamerica/shop/shopping_general_admission.cfm and there is a discout of $10.00 if purchased online which drops the price to $36.95.

Yes, Boomerang Bay is the water park at Great America and it is a part of the 'park area'. It does, however, have a different operating schedule than the rest of the park and will not open for the season until May 26th, whereas the rest of the park opens March 31st.

Sorry, I can't give you any advice on other attractions to see in the San Francisco area.

A season pass will allow you to enter a specified park an unlimited amount of times during the given season. Some park chains like Six Flags and Cedar Fair have special season passes that will allow you to go into all of their parks. Great America is a Cedar Fair park, so if you plan on going to other Cedar Fair owned parks, then you may want to look at getting the Cedar Fair Maxx Pass, which allows unlimited entry into all Cedar Fair parks.

A ticket into Great America costs: $46.95
Boomerang Bay is included in your entrance fee and located inside the park, you will have to change clothes before and after you ride the Boomerang Bay attractions.

Another amusement park in that area is Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in San Fransico.

A season pass is a ticket that gets you into the park for the entire year. It's more expensive than the normal ticket, but if you're planning on going to the park repeatedly, then you'll make it up and if you go a lot, it'll be a lot cheaper than paying for a single ticket everytime. Usually, season passes are only for one park. However, if the same owners own 2 parks, you can probably get a combo pass to go to either of them... that's especially useful if an amusement park and a water park are owned by the same people.

Sorry, i don't know anything about California

A season pass is a pass that allows you to go to a theme park as much as you want during the season (it costs a little more than a one-day admission ticket). Each theme park company sells a season pass for their parks only, so Six Flags and Great America (Cedar Fair) don't have the same pass.

A one-day ticket for Great America (Boomerang Bay waterpark is included--it's in Great America) is $46.95. Here's a list of season pass prices, if you're interested in one: http://www3.cedarfair.com/greatamerica/shop/shopping_season_pass.cfm

If you like theme parks, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk are fairly close to San Francisco. In San Francisco, my favorite places to go to are Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf--they have attractions such as the Wax Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, and the Rainforest Café restaurant.

And then there is a "resident" pass, like Busch Gardens Williamsburg has, they call it the Fun Pass. The price is about the same as a one day admission, but you get to go back many times afterwards. There are 2 limitations:

1. The pass expires August 31st (the advertising says you get to enjoy the park "all spring and summer")
2. Only a Virginia resident (Williamsburg Virginia is where the park is located) can get one.

Does anyone know if the Busch Gardens in Tampa has the same thing?

A season pass is more money then your normal entrance fee but allows you to go as many times as you want during the season. They have them for water and amusement parks all over the United States.
