That's unusual bleeding for Alesse. I have been on it for 7 years.
Call your Gyn and ask. You may need to go on a different brand of low dose pills or go on the high dose pills.
Don't stop taking it unless your Gyn says to. You could make your problem worse.

Starting the Pill usually will make your periods all wierd for a while. I wouldn't worry about it unless a couple of months goes by and it's still wierd. The first period after I started my pills lasted for a really long time too. And for the first month I kept having a discharge that seemed to have streaks of blood in it. But it eventually went away.
If it lasts longer than two weeks, then I'd be worried. I know my sister had a period that lasted for two weeks when she first started the pill, and if she misses a pill now, it'll make her period start early and not stop until she gets through the week when her period would normally be.
I'd reast easy. It's probably nothing, but if it does persist, then see your doctor. DON'T just stop taking them suddenly. That'll just mess your body up more. Keep taking them, and take them at the same time every day.

It takes 2 weeks or 14 days for the pill to become effective in your system.Break through bleeding is common when you first start taking the pill. If the bleeding continues more than 10 days after you began taking the pills you may need to find a different type. There are alot of different kinds of pill one will be right for you.The bleeding is caused by the hormone's in the pill.

Call your gynecologist. If it's weekend call the service, that's what they're there for. You probably just need a different dose of the pill. If the hemorrhage is severe go to the ER. The good news is that whatever this is it can almost certainly be fixed as long as you take care of it. Just don't panic and use common sense - you'll probably be all right, the body isn't that fragile.

If you are that paniced about go to an Er room or go to a clinic to been seen right away, better safe than sorry, and I understand why you are asking, at least I think so, you are scared of doing something stupid or looking stupid if you go in and it's nothing, so make yourself feel better and go to the ER or a Clinic.

i wouldn't stop taking the pills...I would call your doctor and tell them you are still bleeding..(depending on how many days it has been you can turn anemic)...he/she may want to order blood tests....if you are they can give you this little pill that will make it stop....i can't take birth control pills because it makes my periods like that too...very long...mine lasted 3 months long and then they gave me that pill to make it stop when I started getting anemic...please call your doctor and talk to his/her nurse....it will also ease your mind...good luck, I hope everything turns out okay
