Blue-Ray is a high defenition disk that supports up to 1080p resolution. Much like HD-DVD except that Blue-Ray can hold more data than HD-DVD. Also you need a Blue-Ray player in order to play them, Playstation 3 also supports Blue-Ray.

UMD (Universal Media Disk) is only for the Sony PSP video game system. They put both games and movies on these disks.

UMD is for the PSP and only supports like 480i.
