You know the pattern of light created by light reflecting off water? How can I purposely create that effect indoors? I am having an ocean themed wedding and I thought it would be so cool to have the "water reflection" lighting to make it seem underwater. Is there anyway to do this practically?

Place a mirror in a shallow pan like a baking dish. Fill with water (you can also add some blue & green food coloring to tint. Get a small focused spot light or flood ligh and shin the light at an angle into the pan with the mirror. Place the set up at the base of the wall to let the light wash upward from the mirror. You can also place a small stack of pennies under one edge of the mirror to angle it slightly to allow you some adjustment as well as adjusting the angle of the light.

You will need to disturb the water surface to get ripples. This can be done by any number of creative ways.
1.) An Aquarium pump bubbling air into the watter
2.) Get a few of those dipping birds going along the edge of the pan.
3.) You can use a slow speed 1 rpm or less (geared) motor to turnk a crank which raises and lowers an object in to the water.
4.) a small fountain pump circulating water might work as well

I think that in time the mould would come back on the new surfaces. If you have home insurance call them they will get it all fixed for you. I recently had a ceiling in my house come down, the only thing that I would say is be careful that the ceiling has no asbestos in there, as it was common until recently to put asbestos in artex as a binding agent. The othere thing that you can do is go to the local diy store they maybe able to offer some advice on what to do.
