I dont know if i need to buy 2 sticks of ram or not. I am going to buy 1 gig of ddr 2 ram wether it is 2 512s or a single stick.

It depends on your mother board, some support 1 gb sticks some dont, so scan your pcs manual.....

Its best to just get 1 gig stick because in the future, when better software are released, you have more room to upgrade your RAM.

Ex: If you have 4 slots, you get a full stick gig, you have 3 slots left. In the future, you can continue to add 1 gig sticks and can have a max of 4GB. If you use 2x512, you already wasted two slots, therefore you already max out @ 2GB

I agree. Look at your User's manual and they should give you information at to what type and size RAM you can use for your computer. Note that they will tell you the maximum allowable size using a combination of memory sticks to equal that amount. Be sure you are grounded before you handle these memory sticks. good luck

1 stick is all you need 1 gig is overkill
