Store are always open, even on holidays. Especially right before and some have the best sales on the "Hallmark Holiday" I think most places exception of a few partystores and gas stations are only closed on Xmas. I used to work in retail and most every holiday they were open.

In the US? St. Patrick's is not a legal holiday. Everything is likely open their usual Saturday hours.
