What event foreshadowed the conclusion of Jane Eyre?

As I recall the book, Jane heard her lover call across the wind and she immediately packed and went to him. She found him blind and crippled from having tried to save his wife, who set Thornfield Hall on fire.

I can't really answer that , but 'Jane Eyre' is a nice Story !
