I was wondering if any of those septic additives actually do any good? today my dishwasher drained and it came out through the bottom of the toliet and soaked the bathroom floor. we are assuming it's the septic system, as it's draining pretty slow.

It could be a clog somewhere. If the septic system is draining slow, pump out will only help for a short time. The drain field beyond the tank is the first thing to cause problems. If it cannot drain into the ground fast enough the drain field needs to be replaced.

it's the plumbing layout of drainage pipe system... perhaps your piping has no Vent on it... try to consult a master plumber of a civil engineer.

You may have roots in your line or some kind of blockage....Also check your vent pipe.....
