Call social services in your town. Explain your situation and they will give you the name of Lawyers who will work Pro Bono (for free). This will work if you can not afford a lawyer. If they can't help then call your local bar association where they will be more than happy to assist you. Good Luck.

*I just read your add on to your question. I went through a very similar situation (I had a court appointed lawyer), I was 100% right, cps was 100% wrong. I spoke to everyone I could find to talk to about what to do since cps was lying about everything. I wanted to sue cps because of their malicous lies, but the lawers told me they are protected by the government and they can't be sued. After many many hours researching this topic I found out that cps wanted to take my kids (no matter who was right or wrong), because they wanted my kids to go into the foster care system, whereas the state gets money from the federal government for each child. Each child will be worth $15,000 each to the system. I was soooo pissed, I emailed every talk show around, but I guess they were scared to discusss government cover ups. I finally got a new cps worker(after I moved). She looked over my case and said "this is the most stupid thing I have ever seen." She totally agreed with me and had the entire case dropped.
