This answer requires some shading, so bear with me.
I am a Christian. I would still prefer a quitely, privately atheist, non-activist atheist president to a fraudulent Christian who whips out his God credentials every day to keep a certain part of his constituency fooled or pacified.
Do you see that? I am in no way willing to abdicate my place as one of god's children. I wouldn't want a kick butt and take names atheist activist president in office. But I am sick to death of Bush manipulating people by pretending to be something he isn't and will never be. He's not a Christian and only an idiot would believe he was.

I might... but it would be a very hampering, unattractive quality. Probably only if there was something horrendously wrong with the other candidate. A lot of here people seem to disagree as many of them are probably atheists themselves. However, I just trust a person who believes that a higher power is holding him (or her) accountable for the integrity of his action.
As to the person at the top who cited the constitution, that part is really not relevant. Of course, legally, an atheist can run for president and serve if he is voted for. But that doesn't mean that there's something wrong with using their atheism as a factor in voting.

I would vote for a prime minister that was atheist if I thought they were the best person for the job and had the most agreeable policies.
Despite popular belief, us atheists do have morals. The world is not divided into atheists and good people. I think Jesus taught that, did he not? I also distinctly remember several Christian Presidents/Prime Ministers that have committed some pretty immoral acts....

I would never vote for an atheist whether he is republican or democrat. I am not putting my confidence in someone who does not have the relative beliefs of his county. And that is a belief in some form of God or Gods. Nor would I expect him/her to do the right thing for the morals of this country.

Considering that Atheists are the worst murderers of all time, no, i would not. Mao, Stalin and Pol Pot were all atheists and after outlawing religion in their nations, they murdered tens of millions of their own people. Not the kind of leader I want.

If he/she were otherwise fully qualified, I would be thrilled beyond measure to have a President with the guts to join the modern age, a President who no longer pretends that the philosophizing and warmongering of ancient desert nomads hold the words the God.

I don't think his religious beliefs should have any bearing.
The Constitution (Article VI) specifically prohibits religious oaths of office or religious tests as a qualification for holding office.
So, he can believe whatever he chooses to believe.
The only issue should be his politics and his competence.
