Who here thinks they should make some DVDs of Brookside characters to see what they're upto now.?

It would also be good if a channel like UK Gold or Living could show old-repeats

I used to like Brookside, especially the earlier episodes, with The Grants and The Corkhills. It would be nice if they did show repeats, on the UK channels, every thing else seems to get repeated on there and it would give me a chance to see some of the episodes that I missed. !! xx

Yes, definitely. I remember watching Brookside for the first time when Channel 4 was launched - I was a little kid, and lived near the set, so it was all very exciting. It reminds me of home, always has.

I remember the days when it was a groundbreaking show that dealt with raw issues, the sort that Coronation Street wouldn't have dared touch with the back end of a bargepole. The show was quality.

Shame that it was allowed to deteriorate into such a mess and then slaughtered - by appallingly stupid plots and lousy scripts in the final couple of years. Channel 4 dug the show's grave by switching the viewing slots around non-stop after years of steady broadcasting - it was nigh on impossible to keep track of when it was on next.

How the great Phil Redmond sat and watched his baby be flushed slowly down the drain is beyond my comprehension. All for the sake of stupid, pointless *spits* Hollyoaks.

I loved Brookside too - I remember watching it right from the beginning. I've got quite a few of the videos that they made in my collection which were always fab, they were a bit 'harder' and Barry Grant could actually swear! In fact, i think I might have to watch one of them tomorrow.....!

It would be great if they were repeated, I'd definitely watch them again.

oh yea, I miss it so much! But if only they could wipe out the last cople of years of it!! The whole Jimmy Corkhill thing was nuts and when everyone moved out at the end??? Maybe they could decide Linsey Corkhill ate a dodgy bowl of Scouse and everything after was a dream and just pick up when it was still good!
