War can be profitable to companies (defense contractors).
The war is massively non-profitable to the government, since we are spending far more than we can ever recover.

War is profitable for big businesses, and in the long run, governments try to get hold of the assets of a country. That's how it is profitable. It's NOT profitable for the bulk of the populatino, but sometimes, government don't care about that, becaquse people in power will be out of the government at one point.

Ask the military-industrialist how we were able to spend over $660 Billion in the Iraq was to date.
That is capitalism in action. Make a profit where ever you can. Unfortunately the form of capitalism we now see is a bastardized version, when the moneymakers are barely on the legal side of the fence. They are not putting their fame, name or fortune on the line. They simply cut corners by making political contributions to their friends, who, in turn, reciprocate.
All the while,our boys are dying. Only we can stop it.

You ask how profitable.?? Ask Dick Channey and Halliburton. Halliburton has billed the US billions. They are riping off the American public, and the US is in the highest debt ever. Mostly we are losing our young people. Our young people are coming home in a coffin, in a wheelchair or emotionally disabilable. Who is going to pay our national debt.? We are, our child are and our grandchildren are. I could go on and on.

Dumb question.War is not popular (never has been). War is not profitable. It costs money and it costs lives. We are not in a war for profit, my friend. We are trying to keep terrorist from taking over all Iraq and then coming to get US. You need to
read a true story in the book "Why They Hate" available at
your local library to see what is really going on over there
and why we need to get involved.
