Use a different tone in your voice. Or in a foreign language, Bouna Notte, Bonne Soire, Auf Wiedersehen, Buonas noches, Boa noite, Goede nacht...

"Good evening". That goes along with, "Good day." Add a Sir or Madam to the end and you're golden. Give it a try and see if you don't feel good after speaking classic proper English.
