i would like to know if the engine mounts will match, i already took into account that i will have to change the manifold and the timing chain cover, any help wll be appreciated.

The worse you have to do is buy some engine mount adaptors if anything. Cuz I do not think the grand am and malibu are from the same frame. But then if you ever look at the bottom of an engine and sides they have extra holes here and there. I found out later that some are used to mount wire holders for example for one vehicle, etc.
But but the Hanyes Repair Manual for your vehicle too and it will help you. Also, Find the store that sells the motor mount adaptors in case you need to change them. But I do not thnk you should. Cuz your old engine mounts should fit on, but just in case.

It should, being they're both chevies and close in production, but you really need to look into the transmission types of both cars to make sure those will match. More than the engine mounts, if the transmission bolt pattern isn't the same you're skru'd lol but probably you might can call a Chevrolet dealership and they might be able to tell you?

ditto on he salvage yard- give them the vin #'s and they can tell you from their interchange guide. I have some doubts. The yard however might have a low mile motor from a crashed car that you can buy reasonably and even purchase a warranty for.

It should bolt right in, you might have to switch computers.
