Do you really think that true friends would ditch you because of your sexual orientation? If they are only friends with you because of that, then they should not be considered a loss. Trying to be straight to please your family isn't the solution either. One needs to find what will create balance and happiness in their life, not choose things that may please others. If you try and change who you truly are to 'fit in' you will be lying to yourself and could potentially lose sight of who you are.

This is so "trendy" now a days. "I want to be bi because it's cool" or "I want to be gay because it's cool" or "I want to be straight to fit in"

HELLO PEOPLE! Sexual Orientation is NOT a trend!!!

With that said, I'm completely unable to answer the question because it just sounds like a crock of BS. Sorry.

*Edit* For the chick below dissing what I say, try growing up in the Middle of the country. You will learn real fast how "trendy" people are making sexual orienation out to be. I do NOT believe that you will be happy IF it is possible to change your sexual orientat, which by the way I DO NOT believe that is truly possible.

Just be true to your emotions and desires. If you're 100% gay then stay gay. Don't try to be straight just to fit in. It's not worth it. As for disappointing your family, everyone disappoints their family somehow. There's no way to avoid that if you're gay or straight.

well I'm a gay -str-8-bi man and my though on this is you need to be you !!!!! what others thinks makes your life then your life will not be enjoyable ! as far as friends well if they where true friends they would except you for you!!! bi str-8 or others wise! same with your family love is not st8-bi-or gay its love unconditional! your family should just love you and let you be you!!

Do what you feel in your heart. Know what you are doing. One thing about being who you really are is that you can't change like flicking the remote to different channels. I feel like you should do some soul searching please yourself and not no one else. You can't solve other peole issues, you have to solve your own. Believe in what you feel, don't let noone influence your decision.

you should do whatever you darn well please. Whoever you are attracted to... go for it. True friends will stick with you if you make the switch, and by asking about it, it gives you some insight on who your real friends are. You'd never make fun of gays and lesbians, and your friends should know that.

Do whatever YOU want to do.You shouldnt have to change yourself just because your family doesnt like it, plus you cant just "turn" straight anyway.

If your friends won't support you in your decision to change your sexual preference then they aren't your friends,.Find some people who support you and get on with your life.
