Here is a Hint on how to remove your scratches on your glass top coffee table I've done mine this way and it works. Hint:Glass table tops
Toothpaste will remove small scratches from glass, however do not use gel type toothpaste they don't work.

WD 40 would just fill in the scratch, not repair it. One wipe and the oil is gone and the scratch back........plus the oil will attract dust. There are glass scratch removal kits but I fear they may cost more than replacing the glass. They are comprised of finer and finer rubbing grit and polish grit. Contact a windshield repair company and get an estimate. They have the kits to repair scratches or chips. Never hurts to inquire, then you can make your own decision .

Removing scratches from glass will be difficult if not impossible without the proper equipment. Glass is very hard and you need special abrasive compounds and equipment to remove scratches. Generally, it can not be done by hand. There are web sites that do sell the equipment and compounds, but it may cost you much more to purchase than the glass table top is worth.

Scratches are in the glass, not on. They cannot be "cleaned off"

I use good ol' household ammonia to clean my stove, and sometimes I have to use a plastic putty knife to scrape off the harder junk that builds up on it. I usually remove the window, lay it flat and use a wadded up newspaper to apply (generously) the ammonia. It works really well, but stinks. Home Depot also carries a product called "Greased Lightning" that my neighbor swears by. Good luck
