I really dont know about America, but the British were not after Oil. The Brits aimed to spread Cricket across the world and colonisation was the only way. So go easy on the Raj.

New?! There's nothing new about it! It's been going on for 60 years, it's just that the present administration is arrogant enough (having got into office on a bent vote) to not even attempt to disguise it. Bush and his puppet Blair are both the creatures of American Republican economic global domination. What are they going to do about China? We'll have to wait & see...

It's very similar to the British empire in many ways. It differs in that we didn't run home to Mommy if we got our asses whupped. Actually, as I recall it we didn't we didn't have laser guided bombs either.

What was done was done & it may have been wrong, but it wasn't done by people who were afraid to put their asses on the line!

vast Brother is the corporation now. And modern authorities may nicely be the in undemanding words leveling stress that could save us from a corporatist slave destiny---like a well being coverage market that needs to fee more beneficial and better expenditures and cover no individual in spite of the undeniable fact that the healthful, or in different words, a ineffective, sucking money gadget. yet for sure the Republicans see no longer some thing incorrect with this.

Imperialism implies imposing colonial rule on another country. Our country has no interest in sending colonizing forces to live in and occupy any other country. However, our vital interests (political and economic) do at times require us to take military action. For example, it protects your ability to criticize the government on this forum, and it protects your ability to sit in a warm home with electricity on in order to type this question. Yeah, we protect ourselves first, but that is what people do. Also, it is hoped that other countries will benefit from freedom and democracy. Sadly, many people are not capable of self rule.

We are, however, "imperialist" in our culture. An example of this sort of imperialism is hollywood. The jihadi type people hate the "immoral" cultural influence of the US and they want to lash out at our cultural influence on their young people. OMG, boys and girls might want to see each others faces before marriage, and some dancing might occur!!!! Also, McDonalds, Coke, other US suburban influence is worldwide and people HATE that. I just returned from a fascist country with a military dictator (I can't say which country) and there was RAP music (in the local language of course) and MAKEUP going on. This particular dictator cannot stand that sort of thing.

People who want to make nice with people in the Middle East do not understand the people in the Middle East. They wish to destroy our culture and create a worldwide caliphate. How do I know? Because this is what they have repeatedly said in public, and I have to believe them. The oil has given a fanatical and hate filled group of people an immense amount of power. The ultimate solution is to stop buying their oil and come up with an alternative. Let them rule their own desert once the money stops coming.

So, no, the US is not an "imperialist bully" but rather it is trying to keep you safe and protect your ability to question.

Maybe only since they went to war with the Spanish, which I believe was to secure economic control and advantage in South America. Maybe it really is just 'business as usual'. Let's not forget, they've only bombed 22 countries since World War Two - most of them with no declaration of war.

It was predicted in Revelation chapter 13. The 1st beast is the papacy, the 2nd beast (v. 11) is the USA and we're getting close to seeing v. 12 fulfilled.
