Well when Elvis came out, he was HUGE. Especially in the south. This was in the fifties. He was around for a while before the Beatles came out. Elvis was the voice of a generation for many people, then he got older. The younger people fell in love with the Beatles in the early sixties and they took Elvis' place. So I think that initially they had the same amount of fame, but the Beatles had more staying power. Elvis was known for his gyrating hips and catchy tunes, the Beatles were known for their own songwriting ability, good looks and catchy tunes. Elvis didn't write most of his own music, that was part of the reason he didn't last so long in my opinion. That and those spandex outfits. : )

Elvis was bigger than the Beatles. Elvis is still bigger than the Beatles. His estate earned an estimated 42 million bucks last year.

Hands down the Beatles were "bigger" in the US. Elvis was and is super popular with lots of gold and platinum albums, but the Beatles sold way, way more records. They sold something like 106 million albums in the US, more than any other artist in the 20th century.

I believe that Elvis had a bigger impact in the United States than the Beatles but I wouldnt go as far as saying that his music was bette. But the fact that an American Rock'n'Roller emerged and competed with the British Invasion probably played a role in the American people favoring him. That and his "funky" tunes that seemed to appeal more to Americans.
That's what I think atleast.

Elvis was bigger back then...but over time the Beatles have become more popular. Elvis was the Man for 8 years before the Beatles came on the scene. But once he became fat, sequined jumpsuit wearing Elvis, he began to lose his popularity.

Elvis of course there is no comparison,
His music is still played more any where world wide than the beatles
and he was around longer than the beatles, ever were as a group
plus he was more versatile, he sang rock, country, gospel , blues, rockabilly something the beatles never did , plus he was a great showman on stage and he played piano plus guitar
