I mean, it is ruining our liberty, its caused illegal, pointless wars, it has caused laws to be passed that invade our privacy, it gets many many more people killed than it saves, and i am convinced that 9/11 was a covert government operation, so that the policy of preemptive wars can be put into permanent policy, and gives the government an excuse to violate our civil liberties and construct a police state where everyone is tracked and spyed on!

"It is not ruining our liberty, it is helping perserve are liberties. You shouldnt have to worry about the Patriot Act unless you want to committ a crime that hurts the US. This war is not pointless because we need to help prevent less attacks on us and other countries. This war is keeping terrorist busy because they want to sustain control over Iraq. "

heather, that is stupid. That is double-think. You have to give up liberty to protect liberty? if more people think like you this country is doomed. do you even know what is in the patriot act? do you want the government to have the power to force you wear a wire and go spy on the terrorists that live next door? or do you want them to have the power to throw you in jail, without charge for the rest of your life, without the right to see a judge? do you want them to be able to take all your money if they say there's an emergency? do you want them to put you in a concentration camp and make you do manual labor for at least 6 months

It's not a war in the traditional sense. It is worth it, but it's not a war an army can fight. One person, anywhere on the planet, can decide to commit an act of terrorism. The best trained and equipped army cannot prevent that. Bin Laden stated his goal: to goad the United States into as many conflicts in as many Muslim countries as possible. The aim was to drain the U.S. economy and to inspire Muslims around the globe into joining the fight against the U.S. and of course Israel. Our first effort should have been to defend our borders. It's obvious to even a fool that anyone can enter the U.S. and one here can establish identity and hold a job and residence. Until that is stopped, we are not safe.

Opposing a concept that has no legimate purpose is good.

Dropping everying else and trying to use brute force to eliminate a concept that is as old as civilization is foolish.

Opposing terrorism is a good idea, because it raises public awareness and tells those who would use violence to intimidate others that such actions will not be tolerated.

Declaring war on a concept is silly.

If you hate America so much, MOVE!...and if the US is sooo bad, how come everyone wants to be here? You don't see American citizens flocking across the border into Mexico, do you? And another thing. Have we been attacked again? NO.

Yes, but the Bush administration gave up on the "war on terror" 4 years ago to concentrate on the plan to drain the US treasury and give it away to defense contractors.

What do you mean "worth it"? WE WERE ATTACKED! Islamofascists declared war on us decades ago. it's about time we fought back.

I haven't lost my civil liberties. I'm sorry if you have. If you tell us where you last saw them, maybe we can organize search parties to look for them.
