This is a fake name i made on yahoo answers because i dont want anyone to know who i am. I am a 17 year old boy and many people think i am gay because of the way i "talk" They say i have a gay voice and that i lisp a little bit. My first question is how do i get people to belive me that i have no interest in other guys. My second question is is there anyway to make my voice sound better. All answers greatly apreciated. At times i feel like i want to hit someone when they call me gay

I think practice would change your voice. Pick up a DVD or CD on enunciation or voice control. You can learn to use a deeper, stronger voice.
You can't change what people believe. That's their problem. Just be confident in who you are. No one else's opinion matters.

OK first of all being gay is not a crime nor does it mean you have to commit one (no hitting). Practice on your walk when your alone. Do you have sister's, if so that explains you feminine ways? Which trust me when you get older the girls will love. Now as for your voice go to the doctor explain your situation with the voice and let him take you from there. I believe there is something that can help with that. Last, your only 17 it's possible puberty is slower with you, I'm sure when you become a man you'll be the man you want to be. All in all love yourself your all just kids and a few years will make a great difference.

Go buy yourself a voice recorder. Record yourself and listen to your voice. If you notice anything different sounding, practice saying it in a different way.
As far as the jerks are concerned, ignore them, because to answer them, in any way, will only cause them to tease you even more.

Are you from Calif.? All the guys sound like that there. Anyway...You could go to a speech coach or a speech therapist. And get a really hot girl friend!

don't worry i've had the same problem but i ain't got the voice it will all calm dwn soon and they will find something else to talk about. ur voice makes u and u don't wanna change it because of stupid sad people who haven't got anything interesting to do wif there time

Why are you even worried about what other people think of you? My boyfriend has a higher pitched voice and he is sorta like you but he is 40. It is aweful to be teased but it just makes you, you!!! Be proud of you and who you are you have no one to prove anything to but yourself.
