5 jeans, 4 shorts, two skirts, 2 dresses, a million tees and tanks.

all depends on age and how much money you have,
but once in a magazine i have [i think it was instyle?] they did a feature on this, and it was how much the average woman should have of each kind of clothing.
which would probably be like this
-3-7 pairs of jeans
-1-6 pairs of shorts [depending on the climate of where you live]
- enough tops and tees to last at least 2 weeks
- at least 1 casual skirt and at least 1 more formal skirt
- 2 or more dresses [a mix of casual and formal]
as for me..
- 5 jeans i actually LIKE to wear
- 3 or so pairs of shorts to wear in public [not exercise shorts]
- probably about 2 or 3 weeks worth of tops for each season
- 3 skirts [denim and more formal]
- 2 dresses
i'd say i'm pretty average

Um, well one pair of super-comfy jeans, one sort of dressy pair, one at least one *fat* pair.
Probably quite a few shorts, at least 4 or 5 pairs.
One very dressy skirt, and one or two casual skirts.
One formal dress, one or two semi-formal dresses (something you could wear to a wedding) and maybe 1-3 casual dresses. Many women don't own a formal dress, only buying one if they need it - that guarantees it'll fit when ya need it too!
As for tees - I think I have 20. Most chicks have a lot.

I'm not rich but i have:
7 pairs of jeans
3 shorts
about 20 tees
5 skirts
3 dresses
and about 12 sweaters/jackets
I'm not an actual woman yet though (i'm 11)

too many tees
no dresses ( i would rather wear a skirt and a nice shirt)

i don't think it depends on how much money you have because you can buy cheaper clothes that are not brand name but have more jeans than someone who only spends money on brand names. i have about 10 pairs of jeans, 4 skirts...2 shorts, 10 tanks..about, and i cant count my t shirts.

shorts - 8 for holidays only
jeans - at least 10
t-shirts - too many
skirts - about 10
dresses - 4

As much as they can afford.
Duh.
You need enough to wear a different outfit for at least two weeks. That way you can look different everyday, and mix and match to create even more outfits. Plus, by doing that, nobody can call you an outfit repeater. =]
Plus, if you get accessories like shoes, purses, and necklaces, it gives you a bigger outfit total. =]

Well im not a women yet but this is how many i own:
dresses- 2
jeans- 12
tops- about 60 or something
shorts- 6
skirts- 5
