Back in the seventies there was a Tamla Motown group called the originals who had an album called green grow the lilacs, and they released a single from it with the same title: Has any one else heard of it and if so have you any idea where I could get a copy of it. My friends and family think I have imagined it as none of them have ever heard of the group let alone the song.

I do remember the Originals. "Baby, I'm for Real" and "The Bells" were their big hits. The "Green Grow the Lilacs" LP was released in 1969. The title was changed to "Baby, I'm for Real" when that song became a hit. There is a CD available with that title BUT it is not the same as the original LP and does not have the "Lilacs" track. All I can suggest is you search online used record shops. The best, I think, is www.gemm.com -- you can find almost anything there.
