First off, talk with your doctor about when it's okay to start doing crunches and ab work! Don't listen to folk here who may tell you it's okay to start immediately. You're looking at six weeks minimum, most likely.

I had a C-section (son was footling breach, would NOT turn), and found it tough to sit out the six weeks. I got very frustrated, restricted in how much I could lift. The trouble is, if you push too hard, a) you bleed more heavily and get wiped out quickly, and b) you could severely impair healing, making a longer recovery, and weight loss even tougher.

Don't weigh yourself right after the C-section. They'll have you on an IV and pump you up with oxytocin, which makes you retain water. You may weigh more after the C/S than you did before! Lie back, take it easy, get your feet up or your ankles will be the size of your thighs.

I had no trouble losing weight. In fact, my midwives got after me for losing it too quickly. As with any other diet, it's what you eat and exercise. If you're breastfeeding (please try!) then you need to maintain a high-calorie diet to maintain that. Go for lots of walks, join Fit4two or Stroller strides. I very quickly went down to five pounds over my starting weight, and have stayed there. That doesn't bother me at all, as at 14 months my son is still breastfeeding (a good few lbs in my boobs alone), and I'm drinking whole-fat milk, etc. It'll be easy to drop the last bit quickly. However, pregnancy may change your body - I still don't fit in most of my old clothes, for all that I weigh around the same as before. My hips are wider!

(and a warning, I gained most of my weight in the last month!)

I've never heard that a C Section can make you loose weight faster. The only thing I have ever heard is that if you breastfeed your baby you will loose 3-4 pounds a week. After a C Section I'd say wait a good 6-8 weeks before you start working out because your body needs time to heal. You should ask your doctor to get a definite answer, though.

No, you'd be likely to lose weight more slowly with a c-section because you can't be up exercising too much. It is major abdominal surgery, and has a long period of recovery. You should not lift anything heavier than your baby for 6 weeks after the delivery, nor should you put any stain on your body during that time. Your doctor can give you more information.

Nope didn't loose weight quicker because there is a lot more healing time involved. You need to discuss ANY abdominal work out with your doctor after a c-section because it take up to a year in order to heal completely from abdominal surgery and that is exactly what a c section is.

Not for certain, as I have had all my children regularly, but I know some people that have had c-sections. They have said it has taken longer to take the weight off, and I think you have to wait a minimum of six weeks before working out.
