I know one girl that spoke really fast! I believe with her it was cause she was from a huge family, and always needed to get her thoughts in quickly, before someone else took over the 'podium'.
One of my kids speaks fast when she' nervous or excited, as a matter of fact, we know when she's nervous about something, cause of how fast she speaks!

Sometimes..
i speak quite fast..
faster than my brain..
that is what my friends say.
I end up saying the wrong word,
when i wanted to say another word.

but i don't really speak fast all the time..
and i have friends
who speaks faster than me,
like a bullet train.
i don't know how they do it or why.
maybe its genetic?
or someone close to her speaks fast.

for me,
i think i speak fast because..
i feel i have too many things to say..
and so little time...
or everything just
comes out at the same time.
it just somethings that happens,
and it just come naturally to me.

And i am learning to speak slower,
by training my self..
telling myself to speaks slower..
so that others will understand me
and take me seriously.

But for the other ''people'',
i don't really know.
it could be anything,
from wanting attention
or because he or she was brought up
with people who speaks fast.
Maybe not the parents,
it could be someone close,
like an aunty, cousins or bestfriends.

Fear of not being listened to. If they talk faster they are ignored long. (it's true, i read it in a magazine.) And also, i think what that guy up there said...life is too short...everyone is in a hurry.
