I dont wear heals very often
in fact just on special occasions,
even then i am always wary.
I often look at other woman and think wow
when they are wearing stilettos just doing the daily shopping,
running for a bus etc.
Do i just need practice, or you've either got it or you aint?

Here's what you do:

On days when you're home and don't have anything to do. Put on a pair of pumps and walk around your house in them. If the heel is too high start off with a kitten heel. Then when you get used to wearing that, advance to a shoe that has an inch heel. Then two and so on. High heels are not good for your feet. You shouldn't wear them like they are sneakers, once you get used to them.
You'll regret it when you're older. Try one day wearing flats the next day heels, etc.

(The type of shoe that is best when wanting to learn to walk in heels is a round toe shoe, don't wear pointy toe they are not comfortable for someone who isn't used to heels.)

Lastly most women only want to look cute and sexy wearing high heels to run errands. Inside they are hiding the pain lol. It's never heaven to wear heels all day.

It is mostly practice, but for some people it can be made very difficult because of their posture, foot shape or by flat feet. The more you wear high heels the easier it does become to walk and even run for the bus in them, but if (like me) you wear them all the time, eventually you develop the opposite problem and it becomes very difficult to walk in flats. You just can't win, eh? LOL

My girlfriend wears open toed heeled sandals. She has very healthy arches and ankles, and has no problem at all, but I'm in the same boat as you. Any heel over 1 1/4 inch and I'm twisting my ankles with every step.

Walking in heels is hard to get adjusted to. Although it seems like a big task to fulfil and learn, it really comes in handy. If you have a formal party to attend, usually you'd want to wear heels. But if you have tried several times and have not succeeded wearing heels, you might just want to stick to flats or sneaks.

It comes more naturally to some people, but everyone has to learn it. The key is to STAND UP STRAIGHT. Walking with good posture makes it soooo much easier, believe me.

Practice. Pracrice. Practice. And big dose of masochism! Or a fat credit card so you can afford the really 'good' shoes.
