By 3D I will assume that it is a sculpture of some kind. I would suggest making a molded cast of some kind using the plaster bandages you can purchase on a roll. you can get them at Hobby Lobby or any craft store. You simply dampen them with water, wrap them around something and let them dry. You can have a great time using your own hands or feet for the model. If you do, you must be still while they dry and harden. When dry, you carefully work them off. You may have to use the scissors a bit and it also helps if another person assists you. Be patient and you will have a most interesting result. I've seen elaborate works done using this technique. One consisted of 2 hands opening an umbrella which had also been "wrapped" with the bandages.

3D project as in....? Anyway, you have to be more specific with your question because it's not very clear. For example what's your medium (computer, pencil drawing, paper art)? What is supposed to be the subject of your art?(living? from your imagination? a person? an animal?)...etc

For subject ideas you could do a seascape, a landscape, an animal , a character from a novel (if it's allowed), a person, you could look at deviantart.com for inspiration (just don't copy), or you could go to a park and draw something you find interesting .

Any type of scupture in the round would be considered 3D. Unless you mean a picture that looks 3D.
