Is syphilis historically up there with Germans???

A very sad way to express something as the loss of life, in such terms, yes, the disease killed millions, many famous folks, as well so does AIDS.

He/She implies that the Germans were killers? yes, WWII,
cannot really blame them for the folly of WWI. Very unprofessional and unethical for any "teacher" to present a group of people in that light. Germans have given much to the world.

No, I do not like zasi's (refuse to spell that) my family fought
them and suffered under that war.

It is said King David (The Bible) had it. Who knows but he did sleep around.

The disease is a slow insidious killed often dormant for decades and such.

Just my view.

Hitler was supposed to have had syphilis but so were many other important men in the past. The Romans had it too and that dates back to the Bible. The history teacher sounds biased. In order to have a well rounded education and not end up prejudiced, think like this, someone in every ethnic group has done a despicable thing. Then again, there is good too in anyone. All we have to do is search for it.

Syphilis is a venereal disease, which, interestingly in my dictionary (Webster's) is referenced to a 1530 poem by Girolamo Fracastoro called "Syphilis or the French disease" .
Germans are natives of the European country Germany.
I just don't see the connection.
Is it possible that your history teacher is suffering the last ravages of syphilis (insanity) or is he/ she simply xenophobic?

Syphilis has been associated with pretty much every european country in post-medieval times, including England, France, Germany and Italy.
