For a professional actor, the day off is Monday. Weekends are prime time when it comes to working. As a professional actor who is Christian, I am able to worship on Sunday because most directors and producers automatically accommodated for that and theatres have Sunday matinees that never conflict with services. But as a Seventh Day Adventist you will run probably into problems because working Saturday afternoons and/or evenings are required. Now, if you hit the big time you'll have more "clout" to get your day off like some of the Jewish actors I know who are able to put their swings (understudies) in on Friday evenings. You'll just have to be prepared to make lots of choices during your career, especially as you're starting out.

Unfortunately, when you become an actor, you are at the beck and call of your
boss. They don't consider your religion or anything else. It's my guess that they
would sure you were 'busy' that day. This isn't much help I know but good luck.
A thought just occurred to me, is there plays or movies done by Seventh Day
Adventists? That might be a start and they would be more likely to honour your
Sabbath. Give it a try as it can't hurt.

If you want to be an actor, you have to be willing to maintain an actor's schedule. You can certainly TRY to persuade directors to work around YOUR faith, but...I doubt that many of them will be receptive to the idea. Too many other people are involved to tailor the rehearsal/production schedule to one actor.

Good luck.

Just stick to your beliefs and follow your dreams. You can solve those problems if/when you make it big enough to have regular work as an actor. Good Luck.

Anyone can be what they want to be. Unless of course you are a priest and want to be married. Little Richard is Seventh Day Adventist.

O.K. Think if you really want to be an actor...It is not such a nice job...You should reconsider...Acting is such a big joke...a pretender is an actor...why should a man be a pretender at a director's choice??? I think you can do much better than acting...Think about it...

you could state upfront that you don't do Saturdays, and if they still like and want you, then there you go. Being upfront saves alot of time and money!!
