I would suggest 16 for going alone and that is if you take and pick him up then. At 14 either a boy or a girl should be with a parent to go to a concert. Thousands of people when alone would be more than he could take. Probably is planning on meeting friends which is of no help really as 14 is not mature enough to handle it if a fight breaks out. Tell him that I wish I could have said alone is OK - but truth be told it really is not.

No, 14 is not too young if you are comfortable with the artists.I was 14 when I went to my first concert( The Eagles) and that is where I first was given a joint, which I smoked. And my Dad picked me up. So, I guess what I am saying is you have to trust your child and hope for the best.

nice. My first concert was at 10. R.E.M. was playing so I convinced my parents to let me go. Let him go, concerts are great experiences! He'd have fun, just see if he's got friends going if you don't want to attend. Tell him to have his cell phone close, and if you're really nervous about it, tell him to call at intermission, and a piece of advice for him and his crew is to leave during the last song so as to beat the crowds.

He is not too young. 14 is a good age to go to a concert. I think 13 is ok too! Just dont let him go alone. If he wants to go with friends make sure atleast one adult is with them but let him go!!

14 isn't too young to go to a concert as long as he is accompanied by a RESPONSIBLE adult. I took my 13 yr old cousin to a show last year and she loved it. It was general admission, we stayed latched together and had no problems. I would definately suggest taking earplugs for him, you don't want his ears to get damaged.
