What do you think? Furthermore, is Snape really working for Voldemort or is there another layer to this?

Yes, I have read the book, I was just wondering about the possibilities of Polyjuice potion or some other kind of Deus Ex Machina twist that would enable the character to return.

He's definitely dead - I can give you 3 concrete reasons for this:
1) the spell that Dumbledore cast preventing Harry from moving and therefore saving him from the approaching Deatheaters was broken. This could only have happened if Dumbledore was dead.
2) His portrait appeared with the other portraits of Dead Headmasters and Headmisstresses in the Headteacher's Study.
3) Jo Rowling has said he's definitely dead.

Snape - this is just my opinion - Snape was loyal to Dumbledore. He had told Dumbledore about the unbreakable vow he had been forced to make with Narcissa (in order to prove to Bellatrix that he was on their side). He thought he was just going to be asked to protect Draco. When she made the third request (to carry out Draco's task if Draco failed) Snapes hand twitched but he did not break the bond. Dumbledore then made Snape swear that if push came to shove and Snape was placed in the position where he had to carry it out than he must do so (we saw Dumbledore making Harry promise to do something similar when they went in search of the Horcux). When Harry was pouring the liquid down Dumbledore's throat it says something about a look of loathing on his face, which we know is loathing at having to do this. Almost exactly the same phrase is used to describe Snape's expression when he does the Avada Kadavra against Dumbledore. I also think the bit where Hagrid overheard Snape and Dumbledore arguing was Snape trying to get out of this promise and Dumbledore refusing to let him do so.

At the end when Snape fled, he could easily have grabbed Harry and apperated with him straight to Voldemort. Instead he gives him an impromtu lesson in the importance of using non-verbal spells if Harry wanted to get the better of someone in a wizard battle. Also Snape shouting 'Don't call me a coward' was truely anguished. He had just done something extremely brave, he had completely alienated everyone on the side of Dumbledore.

Snape on the inside with Voldemort working for Harry is much more use to Dumbledore than Snape finally exposed as truely being loyal to Dumbledore where he would just be another target for the Deatheaters which is why I believe that Dumbledore made him do this.

I personally don't think that Dumbledore is dead (watch me be wrong :() b/c look how much of a major part of the books Dumbledore is. If he is dead, Rowling has really 'matured' the books since number 1. a lot. I don't think snape is working for lord voldermort. remember how many times Dumbledore said that Snape was so loyal to him. It was said SO many times. Rowling was telling us something. But again, this could be showing us that nobody is ever innocent and everything isn't as easy as it seems. Something is going to happen REALLY big.

I also have a question. Okay. In book number five the prophecy said that 'one that could not live without the other'. So doesn't this mean that both (harry and voldermort) will both die?

And Malfoy's gone...That's sad. He was my favorite character! uhhh.

Dumbledore is alive and Snape hasn't gone to the dark side. Im betting on being at least 50% right. let's pray!!!!!!!!!

I would like to think that somehow Dumbledore could come back from the dead, but he had no portrait at the end of the book, so... But I reckon that Prof. McGonagol has some tricks up her sleeve and knows how to get Dumbledore back. Someone has to know.

I want to believe that Snape isn't on the bad side, but he has killed Dumbledore and left Harry and his gang all alone. Also, Snape used to be a Death Eater, so, if he's gone back to them that wouldn't suprise me. Unless he knows some way of defeating Voldermort and wants to go it alone and get all the credit. He is, afterall, somewhat jealous of Harry don't you think?

Dumbledore has to be dead, he was in a portrait at the end of the last book. I don't think Snape is a baddie, he had to kill him because of the unbreakable curse but I reckon Dumbledore knew about it beforehand and went along with it.....

Roll on July!!!!

Yes he really is dead. Remember nobody can come back from the dead, even in the wizard world. I think Snape is on the good side but he has ostracized himself by killing Dumbledore. Perhaps he was willing to deal with the consequences because he felt so much debt to James and Lilly.

I think we'll hear from Dumbeldore again, maybe as a ghost, maybe thru the portrait. Maybe he's not really dead. Snape and Dumbeldore could have faked his death so that You-Know-Who will trust Snape.

OK. I guess you havn't read the latest book. Snape killed Dumbledore because he made an unbreakable vow. He had to die, or Dumbledore had to die. So Dumbledore died. So yes, Snape is working for Voldemort.

yeah, dumbledore is really dead. *sigh* if you go to jk rowling's website, or mugglenet.com, i think they squashed that rumor. as for snape...i think he's a two-faced guy who only works for himself. but you never know. with jk rowling, you never know what's going to happen. i guess we'll find out with the sixth book! (cant wait!)

yeh he got to close to Nessy on the lock and lost his head, poor sod. and snape was working for voltamort at the time of the beheading, then he went to work on graffic art with his computer and got stuck in the final layer just before publishing, was really bitting my finger at this so had to stop,
