Most newer automobiles have a transmission selector interlock that requires that your foot is on the brake pedal before you can move the gearshift out of park. The pedals from right to left are accelerator (gas pedal) brake (service brake usee to stop the car) clutch (if the car has a manual transmission) parking (the "emergency" brake may be operated by a pedal or a lever next to the drivers seat). It is called a parking brake, because it is most often used to keep the car from rolling when parked. In an emergency it may be able top stop the car, unless you are travelling more than 5 miles per hour)

Moving the gas pedal is easy. Now the brake....That's another story. It would have to be cut and re-welded with an additional horizontal bar above the foot pad.

Sure that is the great thing about cars you can modify just about anything you want to and still be functional. That doesn't seem too awful hard but if you don't mind me asking WHY?

Yes, you could legally modify it if you wanted to. You might do that if you did not have a right leg. Mr brother just got his leg chopped off, army vet, and I told him good thing is was not the right leg.
