For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

A girl is on a battle-field for almost sixteen years, and at her breaking point finds the strength to persevere, hope to live, and the power to defeat the enemies that have been attacking....

Half of this story follows a teenage girl in battle. She starts off fighting alone, carrying only a sword, sheild, and a few essentials. The land she lives in is a fantasy land, such as one you might find in The Chronicles of Narnia or The Lord of the Rings (both of which I have not seen or read). She does not remember exactly when she started to fight, only that she is unsure of how long she is able to persevere.

The other half follows a teenager in the real world. She struggles with some of the things typical teenagers struggle with today: peer pressure, drugs, boyfriends, cutting, eating disorders, friendships, parents, school, and more. She too, is fighting a battle and is at her breaking point.

Both teenagers are the same person. The fantasy land, which is yet to be named, is a parallel universe to the real world. It is symbolic to the real-life struggles. When the girl in the real world feels worthless and completely weak, she cuts herself. Those same slit marks are on the arms of the girl in the fantasy world when she falls and, unable and unwilling to get up and fight, is attacked by her enemies.

It's a rough idea, and I wanted some feedback on it. I also need to think of names for the characters. I thought of a few, but I am not sure of them quite yet. I need two different names for the main characters, since they are two separate characters, yet one at the same time.

I am trying to find names that I don't see many places. I want ones that are somewhat unique, but at the same time, I don't want names that nobody can pronounce.

Wow, your story is amazing. I hope you will send it to publishers and get it published. I would love to read it. I like Millicent for the girl in the fantasy land and Nadia for the girl in the real world. If you will, here are my suggestions:

Girls:
Aliyah--real world
Kaisteen--fantasy

World:
Animus
Andreious

I like Greek names, so here are a few suggestions for your fantasy character -

Gaia - mother of Zeus, a Greek goddess personifying the Earth

Antigone - daughter of Oedipus and a tragic character

Theia - a Titan, the name simply means "goddess"

Nairobi (not Greek of course, but I like it)

I'll post ideas for the real world girl later; right now I'm practicing piano :-)

updated - hey, I just thought of a name for your real girl - Salome (suh-LOW-may). It's a U2 song, not sure if it's a real word or if they made it up.

Instead of Serena try Selena. Like the singer(who's dead). She was pretty with a beautiful name. Or you can try Jesseca or Adrianna
