My friend and I are going to Las Vegas together after we graduate. We want to drive and I know it it takes like 3 or 4 days to get there and we want to stay for two weeks so I can hang out with some of my old friends from there. I know it will cost a lot of money but I was just wondering how much some other people think it might cost???? We live in Akron Ohio, by the way.

I have driven to Vegas from the East coast a bunch of times. From Ohio you can drive it with 12 hour days in 3 days; stop in KC, Missouri, Denver, Co, and then on to Vegas the 3 rd day. Just follow I-70 until it runs out at I-15 and then go South. Its a 12 hr drive from Denver to Vegas. You can probably get hotel rooms in route if you shop around and book early for under $100 in those cities (or stay a few miles from them and the rates are cheaper). So you will need $400 for rooms while traveling; that's both ways.

When you get to Vegas you can find hotel rooms on the Strip, and not dives, during the summer for under $100, except they will be $40 to $60 more on Friday and Sat nights. But if you are staying 14 days that's approximately $1400 to $1500 for hotel room. Another option is to look at staying at an extended stay place like Residence Inn. There are a couple just a few blocks from the strip. Check Hooters, Excalibur, the Monte Carlo, Flamingo or the Imperial Palace for lower rates.

So you are up to about $2500 now and you will need money for food and gambling. Food is no longer cheap in Vegas, especially the buffets. So eat in the food courts or off the strip in regular restaurants. My estimate is you will need about $3500 for two weeks there including driving.

My husband and I spent about $300 on a hotel for 4 nights, and spent a bit more than $40 a day for food - the biggest 'food' cost is actually bottled water. What was 99 cents here at our home, was $3 there - and that is at any restaurant. Freemont has cheaper hotels, and if you can crash with friends, it would certainly be cheaper. All in all, you probably should plan about $50 a day for food, gas to get there/back, plus 1 or 2 tanks, cost of hotel (and tax), and about $100 a day for spending money.

that depends on several things. You have to look at where you would stay, how much you would gamble, what you like to do at night, your meals, and what weeks you would be coming here. I would suggest you look online at hotel rates first. Vegas can be really expensive if you come at the wrong time when something big is going on. But i would have to say on the conservative side for two weeks, you would probably be looking at 3-4 thousand dollars total...

You'll want to keep track of what kind of gas mileage your car gets. then figure out about how much it will take you times the cost of gas at that time. That will probably be one of your largest expenses with the gas prices today.
then I would say about 50-75 dollars a day spending money.
or more if you are big spenders. also you have to find out the cost of a room, and food for yourselves.
I would take an estimated guess that you'll need between $1,000 and $2,000 dollars to be comfortable and not feel
like you'll not be stranded or disappointed.

If you are on a strict budget, try staying at the California Hotel. If you go to their website, they have a package that includes meals for around 50.00 per day. Their hotel rates otherwise are good and the rooms are comfortable if you ask for the newer side. They have nice down pillows.

put aside about 3,000 if you want to have a good time.It depends if you are going to party and gamble alot, saving more is the safest way to go.
