Derek Lee, Julio Lugo, Joe Crede for A-Rod, good deal? I re-did this question cause i need specific answers why or why not i should do this trade in fantasy baseball. Here is my team as it stands...or any position that could be affected by it... Richie Sexson (1b), Josh Barfield (2b), A-Rod (3b), Bill Hall(3b, ss), Nick Swisher (1b,of), Stephen Drew (ss), Ian Kinsler (2b). i put that since Lugo has eligibilty in 2b, 3b, and ss. Its a 12 team league. Is this a good trade?

first off i am considered an expert so here's my advice

yes make that deal and please do it now.

lee is in a hitter's park in a loaded line up with soriano and his 40 40 skills at the top. lee might not be the 44 330 man of a few years a go..but he'll sure get close to those numbers again. i see him hitting in the 290 to 300 range with mid 30 hr power.. the cubs added speed and smiply got better. so i see lee going off like he did his first and second years in chicago.

you have one of my main sleepers already in kinsler. the other is lugo. i like him a lot for a few reasons one being that he also plays in a hitters park-but the other is his guy can flat out hit and his a lock for 20 20. he plays in a lineup with rbi machines in manny and ortiz. don't look at his stats with the dodgers because they traded for him then used him as a bench player..so he never played. they wasted his talents. lugo also qualifies for 2nd 3rd and ss..that speaks for itself. playes like him who are ful time players..are MUST HAVES ON YOUR TEAM

crede is what i consider a junk player. he's not gonna beat out any of those above guys in stats. he's had one good year because the whitesox's gave him an ultimatim..either start hitting now or get ta stepping!..to me he's just a throw in to in the trade..drop him and pick up clay hensely for the padres. he's on the wavier wire on most leagues. he's legit.

below are a few links to some of my teams. check them out tell me what you think

Lee and Lugo would be nice additions to your lineup but have you considered who you would cut? In a 3 for 1 that means that 2 other guys on your team have to go so it isnt truly ARod for those 3....it is ARod and 2 guys you need to release for Lee, Lugo and Crede. Cutting Crede would be an option you would need to consider (he had 1 good year and has serious back issues and to add insult to injury the Sox made it perfectly clear he is no longer in their plans and they will not offer him a new contract after this year) so in essence you will be cutting 2 guys you might like and then releasing Crede on top of that. I might look for a better offer, one that wont gut your depth on top of giving up your 1st pick in the draft. ARod is a top 5 player for a reason.

As it goes for fantasy Crede is not an awesome player, he is great defensivly but that say little fantasy wise, Lee would have been a huge pick up a few years ago but he has cooled off considerably. U have talent at 1b and A-rod is ready to have a steller season. He wanted to stay in newyork and prove that he could play so expect big things from him. Letting him go would be a big mistake. U have depth at all infeild positions u dont need more, u need that star that will get you the big points.

persinally i would do it and start Lee(1B), Barfield(2B), Drew(SS), and Lugo(3B). Put Swisher in the outfield or at Utility. Actually the more I think about it is a really good trade.

Crede has had some back issues, I would be very leary of obtaining him. Who is the other 3B on your trading-partner's team?

If you can get two solid starters for A-Rod, I would really consider it. I think he will have a monster year, but there are many productive thirdsackers out there to replace him with.

im not a fan of crede at all, and i think that lee was a one year wonder, but will put up decent numbers, and in fantasy i think lugo is one of the most underrated players i know. the second half of his stats last year were beastly as far as hr, steals, and ba. but a-rod is always a solid player, even though he didn't put up as beastly of stats as usual last year. I'd risk it and pick up a-rod. i think last year was a one time thing, and when his stock rises in the middle of the season if he does good, you can trade him to someone for more quality players.

I'm looking for Lugo to have an outstanding year, and I like Lee...not so much with Crede, but 3B is deep....I'd go for it.

Not me, I usually play from the heart and not the head, but I always manage a top 3 spot. I always go with the boyys in Pinstripes

im no genius, but no way in hell, you can get a lot more for a player like a-rod, even though you do need help as far as middle infielders. i go into more detail on why in your other post of this question
