Some of these Kobe fans doesn't realize that Kobe is approaching his downward spiral. They act like his future is promising as Wade, Melo, James, Arenas, & etc. Sorry to burst you guys bubble, but Kobe is old compared to those guys. His best days are now & soon to be coming to a end. He's already failed his test to be the next MJ. If he's the next MJ his record shouldn't be 34-32 ( .515) at age 28. MJ at age 28 was winning his 1st title. It doesn't look like the Lakers are going to win for a LOOONG time by the way that Kobe & the Lakers are looking. Do you Kobe fans no how long & hard it takes to build a championship team? Just if you don't know it takes a long time, & at age 28 Kobe doesn't have a long time. So it's safe to say that Kobe has failed at being the next MJ. I really doubt that Kobe will lead his team to 7 titles, get 6 mvps (those are hard to get too), 7 finals mvps, 11 scoring titles, & etc. Kobe's gonna be 30 soon. No way he's going to do all that!

Edward K,
I don't respect those 3 titles Kobe got. Kobe didn't win those titles in a leading role. During that Lakers 3-peat Kobe took on the Pippen role. So he still got to win 7 more in a MJ role ( that's leading). Kobe played side-kick!

your best bball years is between 28-32 so he still has 3 and a half seasons to be the best player in the league. if the team holds up at all, and if nothing happens to him he will win at least 1 championship. im not saying 6 at all. (even tho he has 3).
Dont blame the record on Kobe. Not even MJ could carry his team to greatness if the whole starting lineup was hurt for a month. Odom has missed 30, walton has mis 25, kwame has missed 15, and radmonavic decides to go snowboarding.
Kobe is never gooing to win MVP because writers personally dont like him. Espn analysts were congradulating Raja Bell for calling Kobe a pompous a**. But when Kobe comes back and says who is this kid, everyone criticizes Kobe.

Well, first of all, Kobe was winning his first title SEVEN YEARS AGO when he was barely even old enough to have a beer! Plus Kobe is nowhere near his downward spiral. Kobe just went into his prime last year. Do YOU see any sign of him slowing down? I sure don't. Wade, Melo, James, Arenas, etc. are striving to be what Kobe is NOW! The best player in the league.

Kobe appears to be in his prime athletically. The franchise, however, is well past it thanks in part to Kobe's meddling. To say MJ was on his way to his first championship at Kobe's age doesn't seem to me to be making a good case for MJ vs. Kobe--after all, Kobe has already won the title more than once as a Laker. I dislike Kobe as a person, I think he is arrogant and sociopathic. But as a player I think he still has some miles in his tank. Players who don't go to college age a bit quicker, but I don't think it'll be an issue for Kobe for another five years or so.

He's only 28. Last I checked that's pretty young. A lot of players are in there 4-5th year at 28. And Kobe does not belong in the same sentence as. Michael Jordan.

Jeez...not you again......sigh!..basketball players don't reach there prime till 27-28.Kobe is just reaching his prime!.You have been quite today(wonder why)
MJ didn't start winning till the same age as Kobe is now...
plus Kobe won't leave to go play hardball...MJ wasted 2 years of his career...with todays medicine and Kobe's work ethic he could play at the top of his game for another 10-12 years...ha!...ha!...ha!...be afraid..be.very.afraid!

things that kobe are doing jordan didnt begin to attempt to do until his prim. If you think of other great players in the legue such as Iverson, Big Ben, Jason Kidd, Nash, Duncan, and KG, Kobe is young, 28 is a very young age for you to be playing in your 11th NBA season. Most guys are in their mid thirties by that time. get your info straight.

they still think he's young because there is no one on the lakers that is better than him right now. he is his own team. dont get me wrong, he is good, but he plays like odom and the others aren't there.
