I am a democrat because I believe in the constitution, I think that what is good for the country should come ahead of what is good for the party. I am a democrat because I believe it is the party that is closer to my feelings on politics I feel that it is not a woman's right to choose however I think it is not an issue for which the government should get involved in. I think some people need a hand up and I think the government should be there to help them. There are many more reasons why I vote democrat. The biggest is that the democrats are more for the common, middle class then the repuglicans. Repuglicans are for the rich and powerful leaving the poor and middle class behind.

Because Republicans raised discretionary spending by 40% the last 12 years and the Democrats have put forth a recent budget with no pork spending at all beyond the basic Monster govt. The Republicans are corrupt and love power, spending our country into oblivion with borrowed money. They want to regulate everything and take away freedoms; they increased the budget of the dept of education by over 15% in the same time period. That now has 100,000 employees to place regulatory burdens on the backs of overworked teachers who must push many students into special ed, thanks to the Republicans increasing that budget and hiring a ton of beaurocrats.

A couple of reasons:

1 - I'm not independently wealthy. I have to work at a job for a living. Therefore, I want laws that require my employer to treat me fairly. Republicans always pass laws that favor employers over employees.

2 - I'm not Christian, and the Republican party seems to be trying to force Christian ideas into the laws I have to live under.

I don't think the Democrats are perfect by any means, but they beat the alternative.
