i am from ireland,we stand for our national anthem,so does everyone else as far as i know, even just look at football games(soccer),at international games both anthems get played and you see everyone standing and singing their anthem, most if not all of europe is very patriotic.

depends where you go...In germany some things akin to that (not the anthem) but things like it are sort of reserved for extremists... It is hard to explain but it definitely depends on where you go. Germany is a good example though.
