I was always very much disturbed by it myself. That, and that damned Baby Huey cartoon that they used to show.

The idea IS creepy, however the presentation of Casper was not. He was a young boy who like to play in the snow and died from pneumonia. He never had many friends since his death so the tragedy of Casper the Friendly Ghost is that its hard to find friends when everyone's frightened of you. He wants to be accepted, something a lot of kids can relate to. And in comparison to his evil counterparts in the cartoon, Casper is deemed rather pleasant a ghost. LOL. I analyzed a cartoon...i'm such a lame...lol

Because they don't think of him as a dead kid. He is just what he is, in their eyes...a little ghost. Children take things at face value.

I know what you mean. He was so transparent, I could see right through him.
