i'm a sophomore in high school but i'm taking college math and next semester will be my last year of math, my major is Bussiness Adm. and i'm currently taking Calculus and I was wondering whether I should take Calculus 2 or Statistics. Everyone's telling me to take Statistics because it's good for my major but I think I should take Calculus 2 because it'll look good on my transcript. What should I take?

the reason why I don't want to take both is because we are only allowed 11.90 units per semester of college classes and math is 5 units. Also i'm trying to work on classes for my major so I can graduate with my high school diploma and AA degree at the same time.

Statistics will give you some extra background for the SAT tests. They always ask questions relating to averages and statistical data.
Calc II looks good on a transcript, but a well rounded math understanding will help you in what ever area you concentrate on after HS.
Some colleges do give placement tests to put you in the proper level of Math for your major. ...Many times students in HS who learn the info for the course at hand, forget the basics in the testing and end up with taking Algebra/Geometry/Calc all over again for prerequisite college credit before allowing a high course to be taken.
Personally, I'd take the STATS and did in HS....helped in my beginning major field of Biology.

If you feel more comfortable taking Calculus 2, then I think you should take the class. Although taking Statistics, will allow you to find out *new* things. But its up to you. Both courses would look good on a transcript, definetly. But I do suggest you taking Math for 4 years. You'll need it in the long run!
Good Luck

in all probability. heres a splash. 2+2=4 i think of my pal failed remedial math two times and then supply up so... you pick a instruct hardfkincore. there are a lot of ppl who can help. i dont comprehend approximately remedial bc all of them started me in a pre calc trig classification for math. yet im fairly effective till you bypass you dont get the credit to visit an more advantageous classification - consequently it fairly is in contrast to extreme college the place in case you get held back 2 grades in a row (over right here) they permit you pass up whether you fail. i omit math o_O

Take Calc now so that you will have a better math foundation. You will have to take stats when you get to college anyway, BUT college stats is EASY.

Stats wont prepare you to do well on college entrance testing w/ calc your get into higher level courses (Idk if every college does this though)

Math is so important you should learn as much as you can @ at the highest level possible.
