I would challenge that family to make a budget, and list everything they spend money on in a month and how much. Then compare that to the income. The two should equal. The budget is a very powerful tool that helps get conrtrol.

If they are upside down and spending more than they make, then they need to look at where they can slash expenses.

If the trouble is that there's not enough income, someone may need to look for another job where they make more, or at least find a part time job to supplement their income.

what kind of help do you need?
I get it that you need money but is it for a one time event or do you want ongoing support?
