Does it really matter? Why would you want a guy that would cheat on his wife? Well, it's your life, so you just keep seeing your prince. He sounds like such a noble and selfless soul. Banging away on his wife, while longing to be with you again, for the sake of his children. Golly, I'm tearing up. Your story restores my faith in mankind. Miss, hang onto this guy. No matter how long he has to keep sleeping with his wife, or even if other needy women come along. A man like yours is certainly worth waiting for.

Have you thought if they were separated before that it could be because he was being unfaithful and she caught up with him?
Guys and women who cheat on their spouses usually give the same "desperately miserable and staying for the kids' sake" story plus the other things he has told you. Same ageless story!
Why should he leave his wife and family if he is having his cake and eating it too. Why should he buy the cow if he can have the milk free? If he did divorce his wife, he probably would be cheating on you within the first 6 months. Neither one of you would trust each other because you both were cheating when you got together.
Find a nice single man to date where there are no strings attached. You will be happier and live a lot longer!

This Relationship Lacks Alot Of Trust. If They Don't Love Each Other, Then Maybe It My Not Work Out. But If The Care For Each Other, They Need To Gain A Trust Barrier Between Them.

Based on his past behaviour with you, would you trust him if you were the wife?
You are only hearing one side of the story. You don't really know what he has told his wife and you are assuming that he is miserable because you are hoping for more from him. Even if they have separated, the point is he went back to her.
Seek counseling.

Back off. He is probably lying to you. They all say how miserable they are. He's using you. She has a right not to trust don't you think. Also the fact that he has children is even worse. Your ripping there parents marriage apart. Can't you find a man that hasn't made a vow to be faithful to someone else?

While he may be the best man ever the fact that he's willing to break his vows to be with you isn't speaking highly of him at all. If he wants to be with you then he should leave his wife. If both he and the wife are unhappy then the kids aren't benefiting in anyway from them remaining together.

Do want to be his "next ex"? Leave married men alone!!!!No "miserable" man stays for the kids now-a-days! I bet he's not miserable when he's home with his WIFE at all! Men want their cake and eat it too, you just may be the frosting, the WIFE is the cake!

well yea of course they do. but u got to rember this he could be just using u. u know telling u that oh of course i don't love her but just staying for the kids give me a break. doesnt that kinda give u a hint if he doesn't love her then he should leave her. the kids can still see him. i mean i have 2 moms and 2dads. you need to talk to him and tell him it's either me or your wife cuz who knows he could be playing both of you.

If he doesn't leave with in a year, than he has no intention to leave, and he probably will stay because of the kids.
If you want more in a relationship, like marriage, kids of your own someday, etc. I would end this with him:(
