a lot of times kids are humiliated or beaten up because they are different from that particular crowd. the ones who do the beating up are usually followers following whatever trend happens to be cool at the time. if high school lasted forever, the ones who got beat up would be in a for a long life...but since its only 4 years (four years is short generally speaking...but in teen years...it could seem like forever) if u get through that, its pretty much a new start afterwards.

a lot of times the 'cool kids' have a ton of kids, gotten fat, went bald and are working odd jobs to make ends meet. hell, alot of them still hang out with the same crowd thinking theyre still cool 10 years after they graduated. they never figured out what they wanted to do b/c they were so focused on being cool in high school.

while a kid that gets humiliated mite not be as popular but find a skill they are very good at and pursue it after high school.

at the same time, being beaten up or humiliated could also lead to a columbine type shooting. it just depends on how stable a mind we're dealing with.

I am 14 years old and am the bullies target. Sometimes I feel like a wounded gazelle on the Serengehtti at school and on the bus. I am constantly mooned, taunted, hit, and so on and I have a hard time opening up to peopel and trusting them because of it. I think I might have like so kind of unknown mental disorder because in my fantasies, I am the one beating them up while pushing all the mercy down. I feel like I just want to give them all the pain in the world but of course, I wouldn't beat them up because I'd loose the first fight, lol.

I'm sure it can affect people in a variety of ways. Maybe it makes some people stronger while it turns others into bullies themselves. I would say it could scar someone for life and make them weak and timid.

I'd say yes. If you can't stand up for yourself as kid, how are you going to stand up for yourself as an adult? It does depend how the individual deals with it, but at the same time, this could go on all throughout high school which would leave him/her scared for life unless they take action and do something.

you will make more money then them, you will have more success. Hardships make you stronger. They are stupid, they will fail. Keep track of them and make it a point to see them at 30 years old. You will have the last laugh. The only thing I love about my home town is seeing all those losers hanging out with nothing.

it can have a terrible affect, i took my son out of one school because the principal would do nothing about it. however, i did write a letter to the local newspaper stating that students rights did not end when they went to school. you have the right to call the police if you are being hurt.

For me, the verbal abuse was more hurtful than any beatings I may have taken. It scars your self confidence, erodes your trust in other people and just plain makes you a bitter person

You'll be better off than your classmates in the long run. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. You will be stronger in the end and you will have the last laugh when your successful and they aren't.
