Will that delete all your songs in your library?

when i added my moms nano to my account it upgraded to the 7 and it kept all my songs, but i would back them up to your windows media just incase

No, it will upgrade your library and make a backup of your current library. If you want to make a copy yourself before you install, go to My Documents/ My Music/ iTunes/ iTunes Libraries/ . Click on the library and Copy and Paste. The copy will be in the same directory but it will be named "Copy of iTunes Library" or something like that. If the install doesn't work, you can always go back to iTunes 6 and re put in your old library or search your computer for songs again.

No it will not erase your songs. But it will change to order of some of them. Like the songs that begin withe "the" wont be under the "T" section any more. To put them back under the "T" section you will have to find the songs in your library and right click on then> get info> sorting. Type "the" in front of the songs title in the sorting column and they will be back under the right section.
