First thing you need to do is separate nuclear power from nuclear weapons...not the same thing at all. The Canadian Candu reactor design is perfectly capable of providing nuclear power without producing material that could be used in a nuclear weapon. Iran admits to its attempts to not only acquire nuclear power, but to also produce nuclear weapons.
My second comment is to voice incredulity that you would actually trust the mullahs and the Iranian president with nuclear weapons. A man who repeated vows to wipe Israel off the map and you actually TRUST the word of their scripture over the rhetoric they spew? That's beyond ridiculous. I suppose you likewise think that Kim Jong Il is just misunderstood.
That said, perhaps the solution is to just let everyone in the Middle East have nuclear weapons. Surely they'd blow themselves into green-glowing goo within a few years...then the problem would be solved.

No,actually it would be illegal for them to have nuclear weapons...By signing the nuclear non proliferation treaty they are entitled to a nuclear program as long as it is used in peaceful purposes...So building nukes is totally forbidden...
Israel refuses to sign the NNPT and no one can verify if they do have or have not nuclear weapons...Of course they always said that Israel has no nukes, but last year Olmert said that "Iranians were aspiring to have nuclear weapons as America, France, ISRAEL, Russia"...International community's reaction?" Olmert was misunderstood...Iran is not doing anything illegal, there are no proofs that they have the intention of building nuclear weapons and yet what's the International community's reaction?Sanctions for something that they might do in a very far future....
Iran never attacked any country,Israel attacked all the countries surrounding it...Also Israel used uranium bombs last summer in Lebanon, and yet Iran is a great danger...

You're serious about this question right? It's not a question of legality, it's a question of survivability. The nuke is too powerful of a weapon. The goal is to get rid of it totally...the USA too. Feature this: We have a small swimming pool called earth. The walls of the pool are made of thin plastic. Out of ignorance of the long term effects, and as a means to end a war, someone invents a longsword. Soon another and another and another long sword appear in this pool. Soon everybody wants one and these babies are long and sharp. Several times people have come very close to breaking out in a sword fight. If this happens, the sides of the pool get slashed and there goes the whole ballgame. It's over for everyone. Those who developed the swords now understand this and are trying to make sure that the situation doesn't get out of hand like the above. At the same time they are getting rid of their own swords and seeking alternatives that won't kill the planet. Get the picture? Now why, especially when dealing with a country whose religion dictates that it's purpose is to erraticate all infidels (infidels being defined all those who are NOT of that religion) and placing the ultimate reward as dying as a martyr in a holy war, would we not want them to have nuclear weapons? or anyone else to have nukes for that matter? The nuke issue is not about oil..at all. And the bit about not being allowed in Islam to use nukes under peaceful circumstances? How many jihad's are in progress in the world as we speak? If they want to blow themselves up...power to them, but leave the rest of us alone. Its the same reason we don't let children play with loaded handguns, because you know we are going to hear...Oops!

The government of Iran (especially as represented by Ahmadinejad) has expressed the desire to wipe out Israel. It supports terrorism in other countries. This is not the type of country that should have nuclear weapons.
I don't doubt that true Islam would not allow the use of nukes under peaceful circumstances. But I have no faith that Iran would follow this precept.

Iran has distinctive "nuclear" centers. mutually as there is no longer an superb volume of evidence at this factor, it is easy to look at Iran's status in the international. The are a terrorist regime. They help terrorism in struggling with US troops in Iraq, they continuously call for the removal of Israel. in addition they play video games with the United countries. those are actually not evidence of nuclear weapons, yet only clarification why they might desire to no longer be allowed to acquire them.

But. But .they say they don't like the Israelis.
as in my neighborhood when i even THINK that someone might maybe someday even THINK about hurting my Jewish friends I immediately go out with my friends with our rifles and.... well, I protect then from peoples THOUGHTS
because as we all know In the States that if you think something that some people might not like then you should be punish them severely
as Bush did, he had them invade Iraq. theres about half a million dead Iraqis.Now.that will learn them for not liking us and Israeli
they didn't actually DO anything against us,or Israel but i am sure someone in there country didn't like us so we HAD to bomb.kill innocents and occupy that country didn't we?
we should totally trust our leaders as bush has the holy spirit of God guiding his actions,he said so, he even heard God Tell him to invade.so he must be right to have caused all those peoples death and destruction don't you think?
BUT . if they do get nukes .some nukes may explode in some American cities after being snuck in
But they haven't attacked a country in two hundred years, so i do not know the answer really
except to do away with all nukes.everywhere?
The war of civilizations i believe is coming
as trillions will be made off the next war
I pray for Peace

Perhaps because they are the single largest supporter of terrorism and their president has already stated he wants to wipe out Isreal. Oh and it is also stated in Islam that killing of innocents is fornbidden. You think those cowards care about their religion?
Want WW3 to start, give Iran Nukes and the middle east will be one large piece of glass.
Of course its W's fault, the first answer on here shows how stupid some Americans have become because God knows until W was president the U.S. and Iran were close buddies. Oh wait they have hated us for decades. Your hatred of W has made you appear idiotic.

Iran is not a treat as many think, in that case Bush have demostrated that he is dangerous, all he thinks is killing for oil. If Iran cannot have nuclear weapons, than no one in the whole world should have them right? Let's be fair to one another...........
