I used to drink lucazade occassionally, but the best thing to drink is water and plenty of it.

Energy drinks = sugars = huge baby...does she really want a 9 or 10 pounder?
I'd stick to water.Short walks seem to give my wife an energy boost, but avoid anything additional especially caffeine and consult your midwife or doctor before doing such because different people have different needs. My wife was ALWAYS tired the whole time she was pregnant and it's quite normal for some. Remember whatever she takes the baby is also having and her body is working different now and taking energy drinks may not be what she needs.

She probably shouldnt drink any but I really don't know. I do know that caffeine should be limited to no more than 3 cups of coffee or 2 20 oz. sodas a day. If she needs a boost in the morning, she should probably drink coffee or cappuccino instead of an energy drink.

Energy drinks can be dangerous for anyone at any time. They are loaded with caffeine. Caffeine constricts blood vessels and can decrease maternal blood flow to your baby. Blood carries all the nutrients and oxygen to your baby and if the blood flow is restricted your baby could develop problems. Being a parent calls for sacrifice and giving up energy drinks are a small sacrifice to make when it comes to the health and well being of your child. She should stick to milk, water, and fruit/vegetable juices. Same is for after the baby is born if she wants to breastfeed. The amount of caffeine in those drinks will make for a fidgety and uncomfortable baby who doesn't sleep well. The companies that make these drinks will tell you otherwise. They make billions of dollars every year on the consumption of caffeinated drinks. Have a long and healthy life with your family!

She really shouldn't be drinking any--they have too much caffeine to be drinking at once. Better for her to have a couple sodas over the course of the day instead of a huge surge of caffeine in one drink. Plus they are loaded with sugar and sometimes added herbs wich may not be safe during pregnancy. There are sodas and coffee that I personally think taste much better.

A good energy drink is milk.
Those other ones are often loaded with herbs no one knows about and filled with caffeine and sugar.

There's usually none, except for drinks like "boost" they are a good energy source I hear some prego women drink it, so ask the dr if she can too.

i love this question! here's a fact: there are no known studies to show that caffine contributes to miscarriage!!! the studies that show risk of miscarriage are of women who smoke AND drink more than 500mg of caffine a day. so smoking was the possibility of the miscarriage. although, they have not done very many studies on this that is why they tell pregnant women to advoid drinking them. i do know she should advoid energy drinks that have guarana in them because gurana has quite a bit of caffine in it. based on my experience i drink one monster energy drink a day (which has gurana in it) but that is the only caffine i have a day. i'm 5 months pregnant with my second child which is perfectly fine also there is absolutely nothing wrong with my first child either! there are alot of other things out there that will hurt the baby worse than a stupid energy drink!!!p.s. i drink one a day because my doc said it was ok as long as it was my only caffine a day!

Anyhow I ended up having twins and they are both perfect and I drank at least one energy drink a month through the whole pregnancy. As long as she doesn't overdue it she should be fine

She should really try to avoid energy drinks altogether.
They aren't very healthy to begin with, and all that sugar isn't good for the baby.
She should also limit the caffeine that she drinks, to about one caffeinated beverage per day.
