My husband has been a regular part of her life since she was born. He and her mother have had an agreement that whenever he wants her for the weekend he could have her if fit her schedual. Her mother has told her that if she lives with us that she will not see her other brother and sisters. I honestly feel that she only keeps her around to babysit and do her work for her. I'm all for kids having to help out. when she is here she has to make sure her room and clothes are picked up. other then that i just want her to be a kid nowdays kids are growing up too fast. we just want what is best for her.

I believe that you could get custody of your stepdaughter if her father took the mother to court. You would need to consult a good attorney, but for the daughter's sake, I think it would be a good thing.
How does the daughter feel about this? Does she want to live with her father?
Quite often, judges take this into account when dealing with this type of situation.
Also, since your husband is a working father and seems more stable, you might have a fighting chance.
